Maaisha Osman was a social media intern at STAT. She is a graduate student of journalism at Northeastern University by way of Bengal. She has written stories for local news outlets in Boston and is currently an associate editor at Storybench. She is interested in creating interactive media, focusing on issues like class struggle, including education and health care inequality. She uncovered her interest for health care reporting while she was writing a piece for The Scope regarding the impact of Covid-19 on children on the autism spectrum and their families. A lifelong cinephile, she also loves to write essays on avant-garde cinema and has been published in Point of View Magazine and Deep Focus Review.
