Simar Bajaj was a 2023 news intern at STAT supported by the Harvard Institute of Politics and Global Health Institute. He is now a freelance writer and Marshall Scholar studying epidemiology and public policy. He is the recipient of the Foreign Press Association award for Science Story of the Year and the National Academies award for Excellence in Science Communications. In his free time, he enjoys podcasting, eating noodles, biking on pothole-ridden roads, and playing tennis.
